1. Scope and Applicability
This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through autobid24h.com (the “Platform”), our mobile/PWA app, customer support channels, marketing emails, and any service that links to this notice. By using the Platform you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and a U.S. resident (or accessing from outside the U.S. on the understanding that your information will be processed in the United States).
This notice does not apply to third-party websites, payment processors, identity verification vendors, or shipping carriers that have their own privacy notices.
2. Categories of Personal Information We Collect
Within the last 12 months we may have collected the following CCPA/CPRA categories of personal information from or about U.S. consumers:
- Identifiers — name, email, phone, postal address, IP address, device IDs, account login, user ID.
- Customer records — billing/shipping address, payment information (tokenized by our processor), bidder profile.
- Protected classifications — date of birth (for age verification only).
- Commercial information — listings, bids, watchlist items, purchases, transaction history, payouts.
- Internet / network activity — pages viewed, click stream, browser type, referrer, search queries, session duration.
- Geolocation — approximate location derived from IP (we do not collect precise GPS without prompting).
- Audio / visual — listing photos, vehicle videos, optional support call recordings.

- Professional information — dealer license number, business name, EIN/Tax ID (sellers only).
- Inferences — inferred bidder preferences, likely-vehicle-of-interest categories.
We do notknowingly collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers (except as visible on the ID image you choose to submit), passport numbers, biometric identifiers, or children's data.
3. How We Use Personal Information
- Create and manage your account; authenticate you when you sign in.
- Operate the auction marketplace — publish listings, accept bids, close auctions, distribute funds.
- Verify identity, prevent fraud, detect shill bidding, enforce our Terms.
- Coordinate transportation, shipping, title transfer, and post-sale support.
- Send transactional messages (bid confirmations, outbid notices, shipping updates, password resets).
- Provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- Conduct analytics, measure marketing performance, and improve the Platform.
- Comply with federal and state law, court orders, subpoenas, tax reporting, and anti-money-laundering rules.
4. Sources of Personal Information
We collect information directly from you (when you register, bid, list, or contact support); automatically (cookies, server logs, device data); from service providers (payment, identity verification, shipping); and from public records or licensing agencies as needed to verify dealer status.
5. How We Share Personal Information
AutoBid does not sell personal information for monetary value, and we do not sharepersonal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers bound by contract (cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, identity verification, fraud scoring, transport carriers).
- Other platform users when necessary to complete a transaction (e.g., your name and shipping city are shared with the seller of a vehicle you win).
- Government agencies when required by subpoena, court order, lawful request, or to comply with tax reporting (IRS Form 1099-K thresholds where applicable).
- Successors in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to a confidentiality obligation.
- Professional advisors (attorneys, accountants, auditors) acting on our behalf.
6. Your Rights Under U.S. State Privacy Laws
Depending on the state you reside in (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia), you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected and how it is used.
- Access a copy of the personal information we maintain about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., we must retain bid records and tax documentation).
- Opt out of any sale or sharing for targeted advertising (we do not engage in these activities).
- Limit use of sensitive personal information such as your government ID photo — we already limit use to verification and fraud prevention.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny service or charge different prices because you exercise a privacy right.
To exercise a right, email privacy@autobid24h.com from the email on file. We will verify your identity before fulfilling the request and respond within 45 days (with one 45-day extension if needed). You may designate an authorized agent in writing.
7. Notice to California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
In the 12 months prior to publication of this notice we collected the categories of personal information listed in Section 2 for the business purposes listed in Section 3. We disclosed the categories in Section 2 to the recipients listed in Section 5. We have not sold personal information, shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or knowingly collected or sold personal information of consumers under 16.
California residents may also request information about disclosures made for direct marketing purposes (“Shine the Light”). To make a Shine the Light request, email privacy@autobid24h.com.
8. Notice to Nevada Residents
Nevada residents may submit a verified request directing us not to sell personal information. Even though we do not sell personal information, you may submit a request to privacy@autobid24h.com and we will record your preference.
9. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
The Platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, please contact privacy@autobid24h.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. Financial Information (GLBA)
To the extent we receive nonpublic personal financial information in connection with payments, that information is handled under standards consistent with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and is used only to complete the transaction, prevent fraud, and meet legal requirements. Payment card data is processed and stored by PCI-DSS-compliant payment processors; AutoBid does not store full payment card numbers on its servers.
11. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this notice or as required by law:
- Account data — while your account is active and up to 7 years after closure for fraud, dispute, and tax purposes.
- Bid and transaction history — at least 7 years, to comply with IRS reporting and state dealer-bond requirements.
- ID verification photos — retained for the life of the account, then deleted or anonymized within 12 months of closure unless a fraud investigation is open.
- Support communications — up to 3 years.
- Server logs / cookies — generally less than 24 months. See our Cookies Policy.
12. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards consistent with the sensitivity of the data we hold, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest for stored ID images, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication for staff, and routine vulnerability scanning. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and enable any available account security features.
13. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a security incident affecting your personal information, AutoBid will notify you and the appropriate state attorneys general consistent with applicable state breach notification laws.
14. Tracking Technologies and Do Not Track
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookies Policy. Most browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal; because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret DNT, AutoBid does not respond to DNT signals at this time. We do respect Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signals where required by state law.
15. Third-Party Links
The Platform may link to third-party websites (auction inspection services, financing partners, shipping carriers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; review their privacy notices independently.
16. International Users
AutoBid operates from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection rules than your home jurisdiction. Where required, we will rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this notice from time to time. We will post the revised notice on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app banner before they take effect.
